Digital Film Management Specialization

Focused area of study for Management of Creative Media Majors

What is the Digital Film Management Specialization?

If you want to learn the fundamentals of what goes into a video or film production without majoring in filmmaking, then this specialization may be perfect for you. Students who choose to specialize in Digital Film Management will learn to navigate the evolving landscape of digital production, study the history of film as an art form, an industry and a cultural institution, explore digital video cinematography techniques for both the studio and the field, and learn about the distinctions between film and the business aspects of the industry.

In addition, students will gain hands on experience as they collaborate with other students to produce short works, learning the use of lighting equipment, skills in audio and video recording, digitizing, and editing. The information gained in this specialization will provide students with a knowledge base that will make them stand out in an increasingly media oriented world where employers are looking for new ways to give their companies that extra kick.
