Managing Information Systems Minor

Managing Information Systems Minor

Why Minor in Management Information Systems

In modern business environments, information systems are a part of everyday life.  In businesses large and small, someone must be the bridge between technology and business.  Managing IS teams and projects requires knowledge of both business and technology and an ability to communicate in both areas.

The minor in Managing Information Systems is designed to give our students a foundation in managing technology, systems and innovation.  The coursework for this minor does not assume any prior knowledge of technology or business, and can therefore be pursued by any student from at Champlain College. A minor in managing information systems will help students broaden their exposure to information systems in business and industry, from small business to global organizations. Additionally, students will understand the basics of project management, leadership and organizational behavior, and learn how to detect trends in IT and leverage business and IT resources to maximize the implementation of meaningful trends to a business organization.
