WHAT IS THE PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIZATION?

Exhibiting and maintaining a good public image is essential for the success of all companies and organizations. Public relations professionals are the "spokespeople" of a company or brand, and work through the media to ensure that they portray a positive image on behalf of their clients.

If you choose to specialize in public relations, you will learn the importance of communicating effectively with the media- from traditional news organizations to popular bloggers-to get your message out to a wide population. You will also study how to prepare a complete media kit, and will design a public communications campaign in class.
