Radiography Major
Our Upside-Down Curriculum allows you to start taking your Radiography courses starting in your very first semester.
Why Radiography?
What's happening beneath the skin that's causing pain in the body? The desire to see what can't be seen with the naked eye in order to bring the body back to health is the passion of all who are interested in radiography.
The fascinating ability to see clearly into the brain, observe the internal organs and inspect skeletal structure has never been more fascinating or more powerful to make accurate diagnostics.
Why Radiography at Champlain?
The Radiography Associate of Science degree program teaches students one of the most important uses of complex technology: imaging to help people live better and longer.
In addition to the production of high-quality radiographic images and the safe operation of radiographic diagnostic equipment, students learn anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, radiographic procedures, the radiographic appearance of disease, and patient care.
Champlain's Radiography program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, and through the Clinica Practica offered, students work with the latest technologies that exist in medical settings.
This program puts students into a supervised clinical setting beginning in the first semester. By the time students finish the Radiography program, they have logged 1,700 clinical hours and created a solid network of professional relationships. Graduates take the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) exam for certification; the pass rate for Champlain's graduates is 100 percent.
After successful completion of their Associate's degree, many radiography students choose to continue on for their Bachelor's degree (full or part-time) through Champlain's Division of Continuing Professional Studies.
