Undeclared Majors
You don’t need to know where you’re going to get a head start in getting there.
Small College Offers Big Opportunities
The world is a big place, with tons of room for improvisation. There’s no rule that says that you need to start your college journey knowing your ultimate destination. In fact, whether our students declare their majors at the outset of their college careers or not, we want each and every one of them to continually explore options and opportunities—and we’ve created an environment and a culture where they can do just that.
One of the great things about going to Champlain College is that you can really connect with your professors and other people, including students and staff members. Casual conversations turn into life-changing, career determining events. Someone’s idea for a class project, turns into an annual fundraiser in which you were able to put your creativity and newly learned skills to the test—and create some amazing materials for your resume and portfolio.
As an undeclared major, you’ll still start taking our out-of-the-box business classes right out of the gate. Our experiential classes will put you in teams with other students on projects where you’ll start out in over your head with no clue what you are doing, and finish strong with more confidence in your knowledge then you ever thought you could get out of one course.
You’ll also be in touch with the professional advisors in our Career Services Office who will give you amazing guidance on internships and professional trends, how to prepare yourself to meet them and how to give yourself a competitive edge. They also love to tell the true-life, you-can’t-make-this-stuff-up stories of Champlain graduates who started out exactly where you are, where they landed and how Champlain influenced how they got there.
It goes on like that. Champlain is one of those places where if you seek guidance, you’ll get as much of it as you need, from people who know what’s what, and know what it is you need to do to discover where it is you want to go, and just how to get there.
