Residence Halls
Few aspects of our campus embody the uncommon experience you'll have at Champlain College better than our residence halls. Champlain's nineteen renovated Victorian-era mansions and four new, state-of-the-art residence halls are full of distinctive charm and a great sense of community. These buildings are completely different than anything you'll encounter at other campuses. You could spend days on the core campus before stumbling across a single cinder block, and nearly as long before finding a building consisting entirely of right angles. What you will find is curved, balustered staircases, carefully restored woodwork, and bay windows looking out over Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.
Each residence hall has its own wi-fi network as well as other amenities like community televisions and coin or CC Cash Card-operated laundry facilities. Our residence halls have a huge impact on campus life. Each residence has a communal atmosphere and you'll feel a lot more ownership toward where you live. This does not just include the physical space itself, but the people with whom you share that space. The result is close, long-lasting relationships that really differentiates Champlain.
Champlain residence halls have all the amenities, including:
- Wireless Internet
- Fiber-optic Connections to the Campus Network (Except Quarry Hill)
- Cable Television
- Extra-long Twin Beds (These can be bunked or set up separately.)
- Desks, Dressers, and Closet Space for Each Student
- Hardwired Fire Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
- Communal Microwaves
- Coin-operated Laundry Machines
Transportation Around Campus
While some students choose to bring their own car to college, others find that the public transportation options offered in the Burlington area make getting around without one just as easy. In addition to the bus system run by CATMA, Champlain College students are also eligible to ride the University of Vermont's shuttle which makes rotating trips through areas downtown and back to campus at no charge; just show your ID. Check out the full schedule for this service online.
