Still Waters
| BY JOSEPH DIONISIO
My name is Joe Dionisio, and I'm a Junior in Champlain's Game Art and Animation major. I was born and raised in Vermont. I've always had a fascination with the various digital mediums of art. As a kid, I remember always looking up to those who illustrated and created art on computers. My first dabble with digital art was with the severely limited graphics program Microsoft paint. I eventually got my hands on Adobe's Photoshop, and have been using it ever since then. Though I do enjoy working on 2D art, 3D is also a big chunk of my artistic abilities.
This particular piece was drawn about a year ago. It started out as a mere color study, consisting of a few messy blobs of green and purple in the computer program Photoshop. While getting ready to erase my entire digital canvas, I looked at one of those seemingly trivial blotches of purple and blue, and saw the beginnings of a reptilian-type creature. After that, I just went along with my gut reactions, and soon enough, I ended up with the speed-painting I call Still Waters.
