Emmon's Lottery
| BY KAITLYN EMMONS
I am from Oakland Maine, and graduated from Champlain in May 2010. I have made dean's list multiple times and was selected for the Vermont Broadcasters Association scholarship three years in a row. I loved that most of the teachers worked in the field they taught, and were always available to help. The most exciting part of my college career was when I spent the summer of 2009 down in Nashville, TN for my internship. I was a post-production intern for MTV Networks at Country Music Television. At CMT I learned how to use the industry standard editing equipment, how to work with producers, and even got to go to their annual Awards Show. Now that I have graduated, I hope to land a job as a TV editor in the near future.
This piece was made in my Advanced Video Production class taught by Bryan Agran. We were asked to take a short story and turn it into a movie trailer. We worked in groups and each person had their own roles. I was the producer, director, and editor. We took the short story "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, and adapted it to modern day.
