Taylor VanDyke is probably going to change the world. With a soft spot for good coffee, leftys, bearded men and making people smile, she falls in love multiple times a day. She may be the only one who thinks her heart is too big. Taylor spends her free time trying to be adventurous while soaking up every ray of sunshine she can get her hands on.
Taylor attends Champlain College as a Public Relations major, but dreams to end up as a yoga instructor on top of a mountain somewhere. Before all that happens, receiving emails is one of her favorite things.
Feel free to make her day: email@example.com.
Katherine Clemens is a 21-year-old pre-clinical psychology major who can most commonly be found yelling about music, drinking what seem to be bottomless cups of black coffee, and folding clothing at the soul sucking retail establishment that she calls her employer.
Katherine is a soft-spoken, mild-mannered, adventure-seeking alien that doesn't believe in idle time. She has spent her entire life feeling like an old man trapped inside of a young girl's body. She runs all of her best ideas by a picture of the late Andy Rooney that she strategically placed above her bed. She credits him with all of her achievements.
Katherine is a musician, an oddball, an avid reader, a wanderer, a vegan, a curmudgeon, and an embodiment of all things unorthodox.
Some days she is a tree, some days she is a lion, every day she lives in fear that someday she will go sane.
Kyle Brigham is a current freshman at Champlain College who is obsessed with music, loves mountains, and eats breakfast sandwiches at peculiar hours. He also enjoys the movie Napoleon Dynamite far too much for his own good.
As a communications major, Kyle enjoys being able to connect with people through his work and strives to give people a new perspective on things. His ramblings have so far only been published on Chivomengro and he hopes to become a journalist one day. He's worked only as a barista in the past and now he forever despises making coffee.
Kyle strongly identifies with writers like J. D. Salinger and his idol: Hunter S. Thompson. He loves Gonzo style journalism and often finds himself scrolling through Vice magazine to procrastinate with his assignments.
To learn more about Kyle and what makes him tick, shoot him an e-mail and ask some questions at Kyle.Brigham@mymail.champlain.edu .
Rachel Craig is a somewhere between a sophomore and junior majoring in Legal Studies. She originally hails from Mansfield, Massachusetts but avoids it the best she can. She enjoys sleeping, distracting her roommates from doing their homework and fitting as many dishes she can into the dishwasher. She likes comedy in all forms.
She has never cried, made a mistake or smiled. She will continue to use the Oxford comma until the day she dies. If complaining was an Olympic sport, she would win the gold. The possibility of her eating something without cheese on it is slim to none. Her one true love is Twitter, and you should follow her at @fast_sneakers.
She has a bad habit of writing something and never finishing it, so she would appreciate it if you would write something for Chivomengro so she gets some more time.
Molly McGhee hails from the suburban promise land that is Hendersonville, TN. No, she doesn't have an accent.
She may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Madeline McLean is a current sophomore who has dedicated her life to practicing yoga, remembering to feed her pet fish and playing with as many cats as possible. Also, despite common clichés, she really does enjoy long walks on the beach.
A passionate Public Relation major, Madeline writes content mostly geared towards social media, resulting in a compulsive habit of checking online analytics. Chivomengro is the first and only place to which she has published any creative pieces (#bloglife). In the past, she has interned at a photography studio, served pizza at a local dive, fulfilled the roll of a substitute preschool teacher, and was singlehandedly the coolest Girl Scout ever.
Madeline strongly resonates with Sylvia Plath's words, "when they asked me what I wanted to be I said I didn't know," so she is being a little bit of everything. To understand more about Madeline's randomly orchestrated life, feel free to delve deep into her social media world via the username 'meowermaddy' or simply write her at email@example.com.
Erik founded Chivomengro on a whim in 2012, and continues to 'lead' Chivomengro in a careless, haphazard fashion which seems to suit everyone just fine. He has admitted to a serious problem with literature - an addiction which kept him away from a dependable career-path for nearly two decades (yes, he's old).
You should send him your writing—he'd be glad to look at it and potentially, on a whim, publish it. firstname.lastname@example.org
Camille Koosmann is a painfully Midwestern sophomore from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She does, at times, sound like she came directly out of the movie Fargo. She has spent the majority of her life eating cereal in her bed and searching for the perfect eggs benedict, which she has yet to find. Her favorite past-time is listening to 90's pop-rock in her kitchen.
Currently studying criminal justice, Camille is inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and aspires to work in the federal court system someday. While she awaits her future law school days, she spends most of her nights playing trivial pursuit and watching Disney Sing-a-Long videos. Though it may sound like a joke, her favorite movie really is the Mighty Ducks. Her marked up copy of the Great Gatsby (how cliché, she knows) and a tube of British Red lipstick are always close by. She enjoys nothing more than sunshowers in the middle of July.
If you would like to contact her about anything at all she can be reached at email@example.com.
Dakotah Patnode is a born nature enthusiast who has spent the past 20 years denying the fact that she has inherited her father's embarrassingly vast knowledge of bird species and chronic love of mountains. As she desperately tries to figure out a way to balance her many loves, Dakotah makes a habit of writing everything down from future pet names to what is on her mind at any given moment. (Seriously, it's getting out of hand.)
Dakotah enjoys spending time alone in her room and listening to great music that she doesn't know the words to (but sings along to anyway) instead of wandering around Burlington and attending endless amounts of parties like a normal college student. It has often been said of Dakotah that partying with her is like partying with your mother. She does not deny this.
Being an Elementary Education major as well as a Psychology major, Dakotah is probably going to be attending classes at Champlain College for the rest of her life. Make her time here worthwhile by contacting her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
