Free Tuition Program for Veterans

quote about pride

About the Program

Champlain College provides a significant tuition waiver for veterans who qualify for assistance under the Yellow Ribbon Program provision of the Post–9/11 GI Bill. This education benefit, (also known as Chapter 33 benefits), provides eligible veterans with financial assistance up to $17,500 per academic year. The Bill also allows for the benefit, under certain circumstances, to be transferable to a spouse or dependent. Additionally, as a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program, Champlain has an agreement with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) to fund tuition costs ABOVE the annual $17,500 cap. This agreement allows Champlain College’s additional tuition assistance to then be matched by VA benefits, resulting in free tuition for qualifying veterans. This benefit is available for education and training that begins on or after August 1, 2011.
