Biography of President Laurie Quinn, Ph.D.

Dr. Laurie Quinn has served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academics at Champlain College since 2014 and was appointed Interim President in June 2019. Dr. Quinn has provided leadership focused on academic excellence and innovation, supporting students, faculty, staff as Champlain's Chief Academic Officer and managing the successful growth of Champlain College Online.

Before her arrival at Champlain, Dr. Quinn served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Granite State College in New Hampshire, expanding access to quality higher education for working adults. She has also held professional roles in public humanities programming and as a grants officer. Quinn earned her Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of New Hampshire and her master's and undergraduate degrees at Boston College.

She presently serves as a member of the Board of Generator. She lives in Burlington with her husband Peter Sutherland and their son.

Interim President Quinn views her career in higher education leadership as an opportunity to support the flourishing of teaching and learning, to promote the pursuit of students' career success, and to advance the transformations that college makes possible.
