Champlain College Honors Logic Supply With 2013 Corporate Partner Award

Logic Supply, a provider of specialized computer systems for industrial and embedded applications, will receive the inaugural "Corporate Partner Award" from Champlain College.

"This new Corporate Partner Award is a way for Champlain to recognize and thank those businesses and business leaders who play a vital role in strengthening the economic vitality of Vermont and beyond by collaborating with us to provide industry with an educated workforce that is ready to help grow emerging and established businesses. As our inaugural award recipient, Logic Supply is an exemplary example of the many meaningful ways in which companies and organizations partner with us," explained Champlain President David Finney.

Logic Supply, based in South Burlington, is a specialized systems provider serving the embedded and industrial computing market. With locations in the USA, Europe, and Asia, Logic Supply provides industrial PCs for applications such as surveillance, building automation, kiosks, and manufacturing control. Logic Supply works with government and education customers like NASA, MIT Media Lab, the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and U.S. Navy, as well as corporate clients like Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Caterpillar and Archer Daniels Midland.

President Finney will present the award to Roland and Lisa Groeneveld, who founded Logic Supply in 2003. "This new leadership-level award honors companies that implement a multi-faceted and integrated approach to their collaborations with the College," noted Finney. "These business leaders and their employees work with our students, faculty, and staff from across the institution, including Champlain's Career Services, academic divisions, centers of excellence, Alumni and Parent Relations, Center for Professional & Executive Development, Champlain College Online, Graduate Programs, and Advancement."

Central to receiving the award is Logic Supply's commitment to providing ongoing internship opportunities for Champlain College students. In addition, Logic Supply routinely opens its doors to Champlain students and faculty for "insider glimpses" into the business. Logic Supply has also provided input for the Champlain College Information Technology Services (ITS) curriculum, provides an adjunct instructor for that academic Division, and supports two ITS students annually with merit-based scholarships.

Lauren Lavallee '12 represents Logic Supply as a marketing and recruiting specialist at the Champlain College spring career fair.Mark Heyman, human resources director at Logic Supply, is a regular panelist at career workshops on campus like a recent Vermont Young Professionals gathering at Champlain. Earlier this year, Heyman, and Champlain graduate Lauren Lavallee '12 who works in marketing and recruiting, attended the campus Spring 2013 Career Fair, one of the largest job fairs in Vermont to recruit interns and new employees. Heyman also participates in practice job interview sessions for graduating seniors and is always willing to provide informational job interviews for Champlain students.

"This award is in keeping with Champlain College's 2020 Strategic Plan and an outcome of the Champlain Summit of 2011 that brought together several hundred stakeholders to discuss ways the College can work with employers to ensure that industry's workforce needs are met. "We are indebted to Logic Supply and our many corporate partners who provide internships and scholarships for our students, jobs for our graduates, and ongoing educational support through mentorships, curricular input, opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, and other meaningful initiatives. Together we are ensuring the education of talented leaders to meet the workforce needs of today and tomorrow."

Logic Supply and Champlain College will host a networking reception for area Champlain alumni on Wednesday, May 15, at 5:30 at Logic Supply in South Burlington. The Corporate Partner award presentation will take place at Champlain's Vehicle for a Better Life annual scholarship fundraising event on campus in June.
