Champlain's Centers of Experience—on-campus learning centers with studio-like environments—provide you with the opportunity to work on professional, real-world projects starting in your first year of college. By working with a Center of Experience, you will have items you can put in your portfolio, and actual client work you can show off on your résumé. With all of your experience, you'll stand out to future internships and jobs.
Students across all divisions work together to publish books, launch businesses, and develop games and applications. Creativity is at the core of many of our Centers of Experience. Students in the CCM Division can test their knowledge and increase their skills in the Champlain College Center for Publishing, the Emergent Media Center, and BYOBiz®.
- Champlain College Center for Publishing (CFP): Champlain students are actively involved in the twenty-first century world of publishing. Whether you're a writer, editor, copyeditor, proof-reader, graphic designer, illustrator, artist, publicist, videographer, web developer, or social media strategist, CFP has a place for you to get involved.
- Emergent Media Center (EMC): In partnership with industry, public institutions, and nonprofits, students involved in the EMC collaborative with faculty and clients to develop new concepts, processes, uses, and applications for games and other emergent media.
- Build Your Own Business (BYOBiz)®: As a student entrepreneur, the BYOBiz® program at Champlain allows you to gain assistance in building your business. Many CCM students launch successful freelance careers with the help of BYOBiz® before they graduate.
