Champlain College is located in Burlington, Vermont, on Lake Champlain, about 156 km south of Montreal, QC, Canada. We are located 347 km north of Boston, MA, USA. The city of Burlington is home to four colleges and universities and has a population of about 44,000.

Champlain College is located about 10 minutes from Burlington International Airport. This airport connects with New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Detroit, Orlando and other major cities. Champlain College will provide airport, bus, hotel, and train pick up in the Burlington area for new international, U.S. citizens from abroad, and exchange visitors to campus.

Champlain College is a small, private college that has an estimated 1,784 undergraduate students. Our international community is about 25-30 students on average.

According to IIE's Open Doors, an international student is "an individual enrolled in coursework at an accredited degree-granting higher education institution in the U.S. on a temporary visa that allows for academic study" (112).

Deadlines for traditional undergraduate, residential first-year and transfer international students:

Fall (August Entry):

Early Decision I (binding): November 15

Early Decision II (binding): December 15

Regular Decision: January 15

Spring (January Entry):

Champlain College is test-optional for the SAT and ACT exams. We are not test-optional for English proficiency. Please see this link here for English proficiency testing requirements.

No, International students must maintain full-time enrollment in accordance with U.S. immigration law.  A full time student must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits a semester.

Yes, Champlain College does offer merit based scholarships to international students.  Scholarships range from $5,000 USD to $30,000 USD a year. 

These scholarships are renewable all four years.

Transfer International students will also qualify for the above scholarships.

Yes, International students are guaranteed housing all four years at Champlain College.  International students are able to apply for Break Housing so that they can stay in their residential halls over breaks (except the summer break).
