Faculty Bio

Dr. Sojan Mathew is a US/Candian/German trained geomorphologist and geologist with PhD degree from the University of Guelph, Canada; MSc. degree from University of Hohenheim, Germany and M.E degree from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India.  Dr. Mathew did his postdoctoral fellowship at the Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin and worked as a research scientist associate at University of Texas at Austin. His areas of academic and research interest are in Quaternary geology, geomorphology, hydrology, climatology, physical geography, modelling landform evolution using digital photogrammetry, GIS, remote sensing and geophysical techniques.  He believes that students should be given an opportunity to travel abroad during their gap year to get a better understanding of the world around them as well as to broaden their academic and social perspectives.

Sojan likes to travel and is passionate about getting to know different cultures and traditions. He also enjoys western and eastern music and movies.
