Champlain Abroad is a leader in providing a diverse range of professional development opportunities for students to take advantage of during their summer abroad in Montreal. With Montreal being one of the world's leading multimedia cities as well as a dynamic business and design center, you will have numerous opportunities to gain a unique international perspective. You can earn up to six credits over the course of five weeks nurturing hard skills in your subject of passion within a global city.

Montreal Summer Gaming Program

A global capital of techno-creative industries, Montreal is a center of game development. It is a city teeming with studios ranging from small indies to the most recognized companies in the world. At Champlain Abroad's Montreal Summer Gaming Program, you will learn the fundamentals of game production. Taught by industry professionals, our hands-on curriculum will accelerate your skills in game art, design, and programming.

Montreal Filmmaking Summer Program

Enhanced by Montreal's dynamic art scene, numerous festivals, and diverse cultural events, the Montreal Filmmaking summer program aims to foster innovative and creative student projects. The program revolves around one six-credit course, Urban Indie Filmmaking, which includes weekly screenings, master classes, a speaker series with industry professionals, and visits to local production studios. By engaging with the film production workflow, you will master the tools of cinematography, sound recording, and video editing.

Montreal Summer Culture Program

Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, Champlain Abroad Montreal allows you to experience many professional, cultural, and dynamic events. From festivals, to museums, to countless cultural landmarks, the Culture Program will widen your global perspective. During the summer, the city vibrates with a great diversity of music, art, dance, food, and comedy. Through professor-led field trips, you will be conducting on-the-ground research that is relevant to the global city.

Admission Requirements:

Champlain Abroad's admission process ensures that all students selected to study at our Montréal campus are capable of performing at the same high academic standards as students at the home campus in Burlington, Vermont.

Students applying to the Champlain Abroad program must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. Students on disciplinary probation or those with a serious disciplinary record will not be accepted.
