Health Insurance for International Students at Champlain

Champlain College has partnered with CHP for student health insurance coverage. All degree-seeking and non-degree international students are billed for insurance and have an option to opt out of it IF they can prove to the Assistant Director, International Student Services through documentation that they have coverage that meets or exceeds the new J-1 SubPart A minimum requirements, which are as follows:

  • Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness
  • In case of death, repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000
  • In case of serious illness or injury, payment of expenses associated with the medical evaluation of the Exchange Visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $50,000
  • A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
