As a marketer, Margo's career spans 20 years in New York, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Vermont, creating consumer mass media advertising campaigns with celebrities including Larry Bird, Aretha Franklin, and John Lithgow and also international marketing programs. Margo has managed multiple advertising agencies and corporate staff within the fields of advertising, media, direct marketing, corporate communications, investor communications, and public relations. She began her career as a copywriter for Sears Craftsman Tools. Margo has won national awards for her work including a silver Effie award in international advertising and a silver ECHO Leadership Award for direct marketing.

She held high-level positions, including Chief Marketing Officer at Iris Wireless text messaging, Vice President of Marketing Communications, Advertising and Public Relations at Prodigy Internet, and in international marketing at MCI (prior to the merger with WorldCom) on Friends & Family Worldwide and the launch of 10-10-321, and at AT&T on Reach Out World. Margo has work experience in Japan. For the past ten years, Margo is a marketing consultant and founded College Essay Coach, which was profiled in the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Professional Experience and Leadership

Professional Experience: Academic studies in economics and journalism.  Marketing expertise with global companies, small businesses, local businesses with a focus on social responsibility, and entrepreneurial start-up companies.

Co-curricular Leadership:  marketing, advertising, and branding coursework developed in conjunction with original case-studies partnered with local Vermont businesses including in Burlington and  Fiddlehead Brewery, Shelburne Farms and Folino's Pizza in Shelburne.

Interests and Expertise

Personal Interests:  extensive travel throughout Asia, Latin America, South Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Areas of Expertise: international marketing campaigns across various languages including: Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, Russian, and European countries.
