Jamie Scavotto has over 20 years of on-air/production experience in entertainment and journalism. This radio/TV loudmouth's past gigs include the morning show at Burlington's "95 Triple X," anchoring and reporting at WPTZ and WWBT (Richmond, VA), and adjunct lecturing at SUNY Plattsburgh. He can still be heard covering local high school, college and professional play-by-play for the Northeast Sports Network.
Over the last 20 years, his eclectic radio/television career has carried him up and down the East Coast to fulfill a variety of divergent responsibilities. He's manned the controls as host of a highly-rated CHR morning drive program, held down multiple anchor desks for nightly sports reports, strapped on mountains of gear to "one-man-band" stories from the field, and helped steer future broadcasters toward their own dreams as an adjunct professor.
For his MFA thesis, he is combining lifelong obsessions with popular culture and statistics to form of an interactive database designed to help historians, journalists, musicologists, hobbyists and any other interested "ists" analyze nearly 60 years of Billboard Magazine's "Hot 100" era.
"No broadcast can succeed without equal parts preparation, concentration... and moderation."
