Computer & Digital Forensics Internships

Gain real experience in digital forensics as an undergrad.

Champlain's Computer & Digital Forensics program will provide you with the skill sets that will give you the most flexibility in the fast-moving fields of digital forensics.

Because you'll follow a field-relevant curriculum in the Computer & Digital Forensics major starting in your first semester, you'll be qualified for internships in your first year. Each forensics course takes a detailed, hands-on approach that prepares you for the types of work you'll do on the job.

Our Computer & Digital Forensics majors are highly sought for internships because they have been so well prepared from day one; employers don't have to spend much time getting you up to speed!

In addition to external internships, you may be able to take a paid position in Champlain's on-campus Senator Patrick Leahy Center for Digital Forensics & Cybersecurity—a state-of-the-art digital forensics laboratory where students engage in cutting-edge research and have the opportunity to work with professional digital forensics investigators conducting real investigations.

You could even take a digital forensics internship in Germany.

Gain a global perspective while you work in the field. In the past few years, several students have scored internships in Germany through our strategic partnerships with companies abroad.

How We Prepare You for Experiential Learning

We want you to be well prepared for your first internship, externship, or other fieldwork. After your first year of exploratory practical education, you'll be ready to work with your Career Advisor to take the next step.

  • The Upside-Down Curriculum allows you to get extensive classroom learning and hands-on experience with industry professionals in your first year, which gives you the real-world skills and qualifications needed to begin taking an internship or externship as early as the summer before your sophomore year.
  • Champlain's Career Collaborative will help you develop your professional résumé and hone your interview skills. Early on in your studies, you'll be able to show employers what you know.
  • Your professors will become your reliable mentors, pointing out the strategic academic and co-curricular activities that will help you build your professional skill set and enhance your résumé.

Local and national employers turn to Champlain for college interns because they are better prepared to work in professional environments than the majority of their peers from other institutions. Many Champlain graduates receive full- and part-time job offers from the organizations where they first took their internships or externships.
