Professional Writing Major Curriculum

Our Professional Writing curriculum allows you to tailor your degree to the type of writing you want to pursue professionally.  

We have a wide variety of writing electives—the only downside is that you probably won't have time to take all of them. The good news: our Upside-Down Curriculum allows you to get a head start, putting you in writing courses in your first semester. After your first year of exploring different fields and genres of writing, you'll declare a concentration.

In your very first class, we ask you, "Who are you as a person? Who are you as a writer?" Be ready to watch your answers change throughout your college career.
