Game Studio

Champlain College Game Studio

A Collaborative Approach

Taking game ideas from concept to execution is a team effort, which is why real game industry studios revolve around collaboration. The Champlain Game Studio places students in a workplace setting that replicates what they'll experience as a graduate.

The cohort experience emphasizes teamwork across all the game development disciplines, facilitated by our game-industry expert professors. Game Art*, Game Design, Game Programming, and Game Production Management majors work side by side to create original projects. The cohort environment ensures students learn essential professional social skills as they master the latest game development expertise. They'll be ready to jump right into the best jobs with a full understanding of how a professional game studio team functions.

An Engaging Environment

The actual space is made up of workstations and a central meeting area and monitor, where students and their teachers can discuss and review the work in progress. But the concept goes much deeper: students interact and work closely with peers from all the game programs' disciplines, as well as with their instructors and with outside advisors from the industry.

Individual skills are developed, all while practicing the critical role of collaborator, as students work together to produce a cohesive, final game project.
