To be eligible for the MBA program, we require that you hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least a 2.5 GPA, or equivalent.  If your bachelor's degree is not in business or management, you will have the opportunity to bolster your business acumen in the area of financial accounting prior to beginning the MBA program in the following ways:

  • Enroll and successfully complete MBA-507: Survey of Accounting for Managers:  Successful completion means you must receive a grade of "B" or higher in this course.  The cost of this course is the same as our standard MBA tuition, however, this course is not eligible for financial aid because it is not part of the degree program.
  • Test Out of MGMT 230: Financial Systems for Management or ACCT 130: Financial Accounting: For this option, you will gain access to this Champlain College Online undergraduate level course lessons and readings, and you will be required to demonstrate competency by completing several assignments and a final project. These are self-taught online courses that must be completed within a 15-week period, and are ideal for students who believe they may already have some competency in financial accounting. The cost to test out is $150.  This fee is not financial-aid eligible and will not be refunded if you do not successfully complete the test out process.
  • Complete a similar financial accounting course at your local college or another institution . Upon successful completion of a financial accounting course with a grade of "B" or higher, you will need to supply documentation supporting your completion and then you will be enrolled in the MBA core courses.
