Personal Interviews for High School Seniors & Transfer Students

Personal Interviews are a wonderful way to add value to your application by showing us who you are and what you value. Personal Interviews are an optional part of the admissions process and are available to high school seniors and transfer students seeking admission to Champlain.

Benefits of a Personal Interview

We're a personal kind of place. We believe in adding the human touch to all we do.  Our Personal Interviews are one-on-one casual conversations between yourself and someone on our Admissions team.

Some of the benefits of making time for an optional Personal Interview include:

  • Getting to know you adds value to your application and other credentials. We care about what you think and what your goals are.
  • You'll have a chance to ask about the College, the Admissions process and if you are a good candidate for Early Decision Admission.
  • You'll get to experience a bit of Champlain's famous close-knit community and friendly people.
  • You'll be able to demonstrate your high level of interest in your future as a Champlain student.

On-Campus Interviews

  • Senior interns are available for one-on-one meetings with prospective students. Arrangements should be made in advance by calling Grace Curley at (802) 865-6429 or
  • We hold many Personal Interviews during our Open House events. You can indicate when you register if you would like to schedule a Personal Interview during the event, and we will call you back to schedule.

Off-Campus Interviews Near You

  • Admissions Counselors travel all over the country to meet with students at their high schools or in local cafés. If you would like to know when one of our Counselors will be traveling in your area, please call or text the Office of Admissions at 802.625.0201. Or, you can email:

Virtual Interviews

  • If you are unable to come to campus or connect with one of our Admission Counselors in your local area, we would be happy to arrange for you to have a Personal Interview via Google Hangouts or Skype. To set up your interview, please call, text (802.625.0201) or email the Office of Admissions.

We Are a Test-Optional School

Champlain is a test-optional school. What does that mean to you as an applicant? If you would like us to consider your standardized test scores, by all means, feel free to include them with your submitted application. Conversely, if you would rather us consider your application without them, we are happy to do that as well. Learn more...
