Not all schools are created equal.
At Champlain, you'll experience small class sizes and professors who are 100% dedicated to giving you the best possible education. We're not talking textbooks and lectures. We're talking hands-on practical learning from professors who have extensive industry experience in their fields. They bring their expertise into the classroom and get you out into the real world learning from your own experiences as soon as possible.
Our innovative Upside-Down Curriculum gets you started in the classes that matter most to you—beginning in your very first semester, so you can start internships as early as the summer after your first year.
No doubt our approach is one of the reasons that year after year, we appear in the most prestigious college ranking guides. Some of our recent accolades include:
To name a few.
When you come to the Fall Open House, you'll begin to see for yourself the benefits of
It will give you a good benchmark for what to ask and look for as you visit other schools.
For those interested in one of Champlain's four unique Game programs: Game Art & Animation, Game Design, Game Programming, and Game Production Management, we've created our Game Career Exploration Day, a special pre-Open House event, exclusively for prospective students who are considering applying to one of our Game majors.
The day before the 10/14 Fall Open House, we are inviting all interested prospective students to come to campus on Friday afternoon, 10/13, for Game Career Exploration Day.
If you've been researching colleges, you already know that most lists of majors look more or less the same, with maybe a few that stand out from those you've seen nearly everywhere else. When you look at Champlain College's list of majors, can you see what links them together? We'll spare you the suspense: Champlain's career-focused majors offer the greatest potential for future employment.
So on our list of majors you'll find some "traditional" fields, like Accounting, Communication and Social Work, and you'll find a bunch "non-traditional" majors, like Data Analytics, Computer Networking & Cybersecurity, Game Production Management, Creative Media, Professional Writing, Management & Innovation and Environmental Studies & Policy, that you would not likely have encountered anywhere else.
No matter which major you choose, your Champlain education will be anything but "typical." Here, there's no such thing.
If you could have a Champlain faculty member help fine tune your application portfolio, would you? During our Fall Open Houses (10/14 & 10/28) and Game Exploration Day Event (10/13), we host special Portfolio Review Sessions for students applying to majors with a Portfolio Review Requirement (Creative Media, Filmmaking, Game Art & Animation, Game Design, and Graphic Design & Digital Media). These events will give you the opportunity to meet on-on-one with faculty for 20 minutes to receive feedback on your portfolio before you submit it with your Champlain application.
To schedule a Portfolio Review Session during Fall Open House, be sure to check the box for Portfolio Review under "Additional Visit Activities" when on the Fall Open House registration form. Space is limited. Requests will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are a high school senior, you can kill the proverbial two birds with one stone by having an interview with someone on our awesome Admissions team (really, though, they are wonderful human beings) and still experience all that Fall Open House has to offer. Simply call our Interview Coordinator, Sue Chamberlain, at (802) 860-2700 for an appointment. If you are interested in this option, don't wait! Space for interview sessions is limited and once they are filled, we will not be able to add any additional times. Call today to schedule your interview!
At this time we have reached our capacity for interviews both on Friday, October 13th as well as Saturday, October 14th. Any requests made after September 20th will be placed on a waitlist and contacted in the order received should space become available during the Open House event.
Note, Admissions Counselors are currently traveling all over the country and its possible an interview can be scheduled near your home town. If you are interested, please contact your admissions counselor to set up a time. We hope to hear from you!
