Bring a friend, get Champlain hoodies!

We do things differently here.

Not all schools are created equal.

At Champlain, you'll experience small class sizes and professors who are 100% dedicated to giving you the best possible education. We're not talking about textbooks and lectures—we're talking about hands-on, practical learning from professors who have extensive industry experience in their fields. They bring their expertise into the classroom and get you out into the real world to learn from your own experiences as soon as possible.

Our innovative Upside-Down Curriculum gets you started in classes that matter most to you—beginning your very first semester, so you can start internships as early as the summer after your first year.

An award-winning college focused entirely on your success.

No doubt our approach is one of the reasons that, year after year, we appear in the most prestigious college ranking guides. Here are just a few of our recent accolades:

  • The Princeton Review's 2019 “The Best 384 Colleges” and 2016 “Guide to 361 Green Colleges”
  • A “Most Innovative School” in U.S. News & World Report's 2019 “America's Best Colleges” regional rankings
  • One of the “best and most interesting schools” in the United States, Canada and Great Britain, according to the Fiske Guide to Colleges for 2020
  • 2019 College of Distinction
  • “Top School for Game Design” in 2018 in The Princeton Review
  • #12 in the nation for our percentage of students studying abroad among leading colleges and universities by the Institute of International Education
  • The National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security have designated Champlain College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education

Give perspective to your whole college search.

When you come to the Fall Open House, you'll begin to see for yourself the benefits of:

  • an innovative, career-focused approach to higher education (our grads consistently land jobs in their fields at rates higher than national averages);
  • faculty with extensive industry experience in the subject areas in which they teach;
  • a stunningly beautiful campus (we would argue one of the most beautiful in the country);
  • a creative, ambitious, and tight-knit community and outstanding student life activities, clubs, and trips; and
  • residence halls you can really call home (because they are homes—Victorian-era mansions to be specific).

It will give you a good benchmark for what to ask and look for as you visit other schools.

Get ready to discover the major difference of Champlain.

If you've been researching colleges, you already know that most lists of majors look more or less the same, with maybe a few that stand out from those you've seen nearly everywhere else.

When you look at Champlain College's list of majors, can you see what links them together? We'll spare you the suspense: Champlain's career-focused majors offer the greatest potential for future employment.

So, on our list of majors you'll find some "traditional" fields, like Accounting, Communication and Social Work, and you'll find a bunch of "nontraditional" majors, like Data Analytics, Computer Networking & Cybersecurity, Game Production Management, Creative Media, Professional Writing, Management & Innovation, and Environmental Studies & Policy, that you probably haven't seen anywhere else.  Our new majors include Applied Mathematics and Degree Design Lab: Integrative Professional Studies.

No matter which major you choose, your Champlain education will be anything but "typical." Here, there's no such thing!

Seniors—receive expert guidance on your admissions portfolio.

If you could have a Champlain faculty member help fine-tune your application portfolio, would you? During our Fall Open House, we host special Portfolio Review Sessions for high school seniors applying to majors with a Portfolio Review Requirement (Creative Media, Filmmaking, Game Art, Game Design, and Visual Communication Design).

These events give you the opportunity to meet one-on-one with faculty for 20 minutes to receive feedback on your portfolio before you submit it with your Champlain application.

To schedule a Portfolio Review Session during Fall Open House, please select your major of interest on the registration form in the Portfolio Review section, and a team member will contact you to schedule your session. Space is limited, and requests will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

But wait! If you're a senior, there's more!

If you are a high school senior, you can kill the proverbial two birds with one stone: schedule an interview with someone from our awesome team and still experience all that Fall Open House has to offer.

Simply select “yes” on the registration form in the interview section on the registration form and we will contact you to schedule a time.

If you are interested in this option, don't wait! Space for interview sessions is limited and once they are filled, we will not be able to add any additional times.

Refer-a-Friend and get Champlain sweatshirts!

Have a friend who is a junior or senior in high school who is looking at colleges? If you are planning a visit to our Burlington, Vermont, campus, we'd love for you to invite them to come along.

When you register to come to campus for Fall Open House, you'll have the opportunity to refer-a-friend right on the registration form. All we need is a first and last name and a valid email address. We take care of the rest!

We'll send an email to your friend telling them you referred them (providing the date of the event). There is a special Refer-a-Friend link in the email that will allow them to register for the same event you are registered for. All they need to do is click that link and register. If the friend you refer registers for and attends the event, YOU BOTH get a nice (like, really nice) Champlain sweatshirt at the event.

Please note: Limit one sweatshirt per student.

Sound good? We thought so.

We'd love to tell (and show) you so much more!
