Get Ready for Your Summer Launch Experience
What better way to start college than by knowing that you already have a few friends?
Throughout the summer months, Champlain College Student Life offers “Summer Launch” events to incoming first-year students, so they can be a step ahead on Orientation and college life in general.
Summer Launch programs are two- to three-day activities designed by the Student Life team to:
- enable you to see a bit of Burlington over the summer (amazing),
- meet other students from your class before Orientation (genius), and
- have a blast being here (accurate).
Basically, by coming to a Summer Launch event, you are ensuring that when you get to Orientation in the fall, you already recognize some friendly faces. You’ll know some people who work at Champlain, you’ll have people to sit with during the opening talks, you’ll have people to eat with in the IDX Dining Hall, and so on. It’s a good deal.
Incoming students may register for one or more Summer Launch programs. Space is limited for most events, and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The program fee for programs is $200; scholarships are available based on demonstrated need.
This year’s Summer Launch programs are listed below. Registration opens May 1.

Outdoor Adventure Program
A small group of first-year students will spend three days on a backcountry retreat at a wilderness lodge, building friendships with fellow adventure-minded classmates. Activities include a beginner’s hike, games and exciting opportunities for getting connected. You’ll develop bonds and create friendships that will last well beyond your four years at Champlain. Our Outdoor Adventure Program is an excellent way to kick-start your Champlain College experience. Dare to join us?

Champlain Ultimate Experience
Transitioning to college can be harder for some students than others. If you have struggled with transitions in the past, or with making social connections, this program might be a good fit for you. Students who attend this program will get to experience all aspects of college life. While you spend three days living the complete residential, academic and social experience of college, you’ll explore all of the resources available on campus and in the community. Participate in activities both on and off campus that will help you create social connections to build on when you return in the fall.
Sorry! This program is now full. If you have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
