Get Ready for Your Summer Launch Experience
What better way to start college than by knowing that you already have a few friends?
Throughout the summer months, Champlain College Student Life offers “Summer Launch” events to incoming first-year students, so they can be a step ahead on Orientation and college life in general.
Summer Launch programs are two- to three-day activities designed by the Student Life team to:
- enable you to see a bit of Burlington over the summer (amazing),
- meet other students from your class before Orientation (genius), and
- have a blast being here (accurate).
Basically, by coming to a Summer Launch event, you are ensuring that when you get to Orientation in the fall, you already recognize some friendly faces. You’ll know some people who work at Champlain, you’ll have people to sit with during the opening talks, you’ll have people to eat with in the IDX Dining Hall, and so on. It’s a good deal.
Typically, there are Summer Launch events/trips running Tuesday through Thursday throughout June and July. Previous Summer Launch experiences have included an Outdoor Adventure Program, Montreal Service Trip, and a Leadership development theme, among others.
Incoming students may register for one or more Summer Launch programs. Space is limited for most events, and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Most programs will have a modest associated fee to cover expenses; these will be published when the programming is finalized.
This year’s Summer Launch lineup is still being created. Visit this page after May 1 for updates.
