All new students will attend our January New Student Orientation. This includes first-year students, transfer students, and international students starting classes in January.
Champlain College January New Student Orientation
Orientation begins Sunday, January 13 with move-in and check-in. Residential students will check in at Skiff Hall (163 S. Willard Street) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Once you are checked in, you can start moving into your residence hall. Commuter students will check in at the Student Life Center (262 S. Willard Street) from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Champlain's Orientation program is designed to get you acclimated to the College before your classes begin. Our January Orientation is smaller than the one we hold each August to welcome in the new class of first-year and transfer students, however, our January Orientation is just as important—and just as fun and worthwhile.
The rest of the activities focus on helping you get to know the campus:
You’ll be placed in a small group with other new students and an Orientation Leader who will be your guide for the events.
Your family is welcome to attend morning and early afternoon activities, and then there will be a special farewell to the folks at 3:30 PM. There will be additional activities and social events after families leave that run into the evening on Sunday. You won't want to miss any of it!
There is no fee to participate in January Orientation.
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS: Saturday, January 12, 2019 (starting at 1:00 PM)-Sunday, January 13, 2019
New Student Orientation will include a College welcome, student activities, and a chance to meet the Champlain academic teams. All international and exchange students must also attend this two-day Orientation.
FALL CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, JANUARY 14, 2019
Please feel free to contact Jared Cadrette with any questions you have regarding Orientation.
International students will participate in both the special International Student Orientation and the general January Orientation for all new students. This special International Student Orientation is mandatory for all new incoming international and exchange students, as is the New Student Orientation for all new students.
The International Student Orientation is designed to accommodate the early arrival to campus of our new international and exchange students and to help them get settled, take care of College business, and meet various staff and faculty ahead of New Student Orientation. A variety of activities, workshops, and outings are planned. The International Student Orientation fee is $150. This fee covers meals, expenses, and activities held during this early 3-day Orientation program.
At the event, new International students will:
