About Our Residence Halls

Breathtaking views of Lake Champlain everywhere you look. The scenic ridge of the Adirondack Mountains in the distance. Fall foliage that brings the world to Vermont every autumn. Halls that foster a close sense of community. These are just a few of the things to look forward to in your new home.

Housing at Champlain isn't like college housing everywhere else. We've got everything, from the chic modernism of Main Street Suites to the historic splendor of Bankus Hall. There's not a bad option on the whole campus. Click on the links below to learn more about our various housing options and start imagining what living on campus will be like.

For more modern surroundings, you’ll find suite-style residence halls on campus and in the nearby Hill Section or in deluxe apartments a little farther off campus.

McDonald Hall at Champlain College

Victorian-Era Residence Halls For First-Year Students

All first-year students live in one of our restored Victorian-era mansions. These beautiful stately homes exude history and Victorian charm—and student community. You'll see the unmistakable marks of a cool student life experience (think: rolling out of bed and taking off on a long board to get to class). You can choose to live in one of the Victorian mansions all four years, or go for one of our other housing options. Check out the line up of Victorian-era mansions.

Sophomore and Upper-Class Residence Halls

Want a different vibe after your first year, we have amazing residence halls that feature modern suite style residence halls. Some of them are right on campus in the middle of things, overlooking a quad, and some give you a little distance (walking distance, that is) and are located in spots near campus in the famous Burlington Hill Section. See our suite-style residence halls.

194 St. Paul Street: Apartment-Style Residence Hall

If you eventually want to put a little more distance between school and home, we have our new, ultramodern 194 Saint Paul Street apartments in downtown Burlington, located a few blocks from Champlain's Main Campus and only three blocks from the waterfront (Yes! a number of the bright and airy rooms have views of the Lake!). Vibrant, safe and fully furnished, each apartment is outfitted with a variety of amenities and sustainable design feaures. Free shuttles run between our Main Campus, the apartments and the Lakeside Campus on a regular basis.

Off-Campus Housing

We guarantee housing for all four years at Champlain. We do have students, however, who choose to find their own housing in Burlington. There are certainly wonderful options. You can check out the resources we have for upper-class students to help find local housing, as well as our On Campus Resources page that details special programs for our "commuter" students, such as on campus lockers, bike racks and other great information.
