Upload a Video

Before you get started...

  1. It helps to have the World Inquiry Questions in front of you.
  2. You are welcome to answer as many of the questions as you like, but we ask that you record one video per question, and each video must be no more than 10 minutes in length.
  3. To upload your video (detailed below), you will need to log into YouTube, if you do not have an account you can create one (www.youtube.com).

Recording your video on a mobile device

  1. We recommend that you find a quiet space to help ensure the audio quality of your recording.
  2. Open your camera app and select the video option.
  3. Record your response to one of the questions. Again remember, we ask one answer per video and each video be no more than 10 minutes in length.

Uploading your video from a mobile device

  1. Uploading to YouTube from either an Android or an iPhone is very similar. Both require the YouTube app, which can be acquired through the Play Store for Android or App Store for iPhone.
    • Note: Many phones already have this app on them already.
  2. Enter the YouTube app.
    • Note: Some companies and schools block YouTube for their employees or students. If this is the case, you may need to log in on a different device or with a different Google account.
  3. You will see a camera button. This can be accessed from the home screen or account tab.
  4. The next screen should show a list of your videos stored on the device. Select the video you just made or tap the video camera icon and start recording from there.
  5. You will then be able to give the video a title (including the question you are answering), description, and be able to set the Privacy.
    • Please title the video "FIRSTNAME LASTNAME, AI WOLRD INQUIRY, QUESTION#" (Example: JANE SMITH, AI WOLRD INQUIRY, QUESTION3).
    • The description can be anything you choose.
    • For Privacy settings, please select: Public (Anyone can view).
    • Adding Tags to the video can only be completed after uploading on mobile. Please scroll down to "Adding tags to videos".
  6. You should be ready to upload! Android phones will have a button to upload. iPhone should have a button that says Upload.
    • Note: If you have questions about uploading, we suggest visiting the YouTube help page.

IMPORTANT: If possible, connect to WiFi before uploading. If using mobile data/connection, the upload can take much longer and eat your data.

After uploading...

  1. Please fill out this form with information about your story so that we have record. A new form does need to be completed for each new video.
  2. If you want to add tags to your video to help make it more searchable, you can follow the directions below.
  3. Invite your friends to share their stories of AI impact as well. We are looking to collect as many videos as we possibly can for our World Inquiry!
