Dr. Morrison was an adjunct instructor of interpersonal communication for most of her higher ed career, and began teaching exclusively for Champlain College in the online division in 2002. From 2013-2021 she was on the academic advising team for Champlain College Online, and led the team as Associate Director of Advising and Success Advisor till 2021 when she moved to the role of Director for the General Education Program.

Her doctorate is in speech communication with a focus on instructional communication. Dr. Morrison’s research examined the ways in which teachers and students navigate classroom communication that is emotionally charged in response to an inclusive and diverse curriculum. Her thinking and writing these days are devoted to supporting students who are returning to higher ed, and promoting the value of general education, the liberal arts and interdisciplinarities.
