DESCRIPTION:Build your professional network and develop an essential skill by participating in our Spring 2025 Mock Interview Days. During a ONE-HOUR time block\, you’ll be paired with a volunteer guest facilitator who will conduct a mock interview and provide feedback. This is a safe opportunity to work with someone who is invested in helping you build confidence. We have a great group of volunteers including faculty\, staff\, alumni\, employers\, and industry leaders who will help you prepare for your job\, internship\, grad school\, or law school interview. \nMock Interviews will be conducted virtually on Zoom on Tuesday\, February 25\, and Thursday\, February 27\, and in person at the Career Collaborative Office (Garden House in Finney Quad) on Wednesday\, February 26. \nTo register and select a one-hour time slot\, select EXTERNAL REGISTRATION in the top right corner and then complete the custom Mock Interview Days registration form – https://bit.ly/spring2025mockintregis. To complete the external registration form\, you will need your resume. There is also an option to specify the type of position you wish to use for the mock interview and upload the job or internship posting. DESCRIPTION:HOPE Works\, a Burlington-based confidential non-profit dedicated to ending all forms of sexual violence\, will host drop-in office hours where students can learn about their services and seek support with experiences of relationship abuse\, sexual violence\, and stalking\, as well as answer questions about Title IX. These drop-in hours will be held in the Student Health Center\, located on the ground floor of Whiting Hall on the Burlington campus. \nThis collaborative event is supported by the Division of Student Affairs\, the Title IX Office\, the Student Health Center\, the Counseling Center\, and Dare to Care. \nHOPE Works advocates are a confidential resource open to our student community.

SUMMARY:WGC CHATS #2: Harmony Edosomwan
DESCRIPTION:WGC CHATS (Women’s & Gender Center-Community. Healing. Activism. Teaching. Solidarity.) is an interview series where students will have the opportunity to learn from community members about their careers\, how they got to where they are now\, and how their marginalized identities challenged and strengthened them throughout their career journey. Each session will start out with the WGC Coordinator interviewing the guest and then it will be opened up to student questions. \nHarmony is a chef\, author of the book Sad Black Girl\, poet\, activist\, self-proclaimed serial-entrepreneur\, and your very own Miss Chittenden County! She is the daughter of two Nigerian immigrants and was raised in the Bronx before moving to Vermont in 2016 to attend UVM. She currently owns and operates her own Afrofusion catering business\, pop-up restaurant\, and supper club called Harmony’s Kitchen. In collaboration with DARE to Care\, each of these sessions will be aligned with our monthly wellness themes. February’s theme is Physical Wellness.
