DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the staff at the Catholic Center at UVM\, we invite you to join us in prayer each morning of the Sacred Triduum at 5:00 a.m. at the Catholic Center. On the morning of Holy Thursday\, Good Friday\, and Holy Saturday\, our students and community members come together to pray Tenebrae\, a tradition of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. In this prayer\, Matins and Lauds are combined together in a special way\, along with ancient rubrics. \nCandles are gradually extinguished through the prayer with the service ending in darkness. Students are welcome to join for breakfast concluding the service on Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday.

On this holy night\, the Church keeps watch\, celebrating the resurrection of Christ in the sacraments and awaiting his return in glory. It is the turning point of the Triduum\, the Passover of the new covenant\, which marks Christ’s passage from death to life. Consider staying afterwards for light refreshments to celebrate the newly baptized!
