DESCRIPTION:Is the darkness this time of year getting you down? Use a happy light! Happy lights are now available across campus to help brighten your day—literally. \nWhat’s a Happy Light?\nA Happy light is a UV-free light therapy lamp that mimics sunlight. Consistent use can help combat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)\, and improve mood\, sleep\, and energy. Instructions for safe use are included with all happy lights on campus. \nWhere Can I Find Them?\nHappy lights are located in IDX Fireside Lounge\, and on the third\, second\, and ground floors of MIC (Library). Looking to use it in your own space? As cannabis becomes more widely available\, understanding its mental health impacts is more important than ever. \nTogether\, we’ll learn how cannabis affects anxiety—both short-term and long-term\, gain knowledge to make informed decisions and recognize when you or your friends may benefit from support\, and discuss available resources. This is a judgment-free space focused on education\, awareness\, and empowerment. All students are welcome\, regardless of their personal experiences or choices around cannabis use. \nFacilitated by Tom Fontana (he/him)\, the Alcohol\, Cannabis\, and Other Drugs Initiatives Manager for the University of Vermont. \nFulfills the DareToCAREtalk InSight milestone. Must attend the full program to satisfy this requirement.
