This exhibit can be found on the 4th floor of the Center for Communications & Creative Media\, by the arches windows on the way to the Ireland building\, and will be up from Wednesday\, January 15th at 12 PM\, through Wednesday\, January 29th for contribution. Staff will be available for creative support during the opening of the exhibit on January 15\, as well on January 21.

SUMMARY:MLK Keynote Speaker: Loretta J. Ross
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. keynote speaker event\, featuring Loretta J. Ross\, author of Calling In: How to Start Making Change With Those You’d Rather Cancel. \nLoretta J. Ross is an activist\, public intellectual\, scholar\, the 2022 recipient of the MacArthur Foundation “Genius” award and an Associate Professor at Smith College. Throughout her 50-year career she has worked with prominent organizations related to women’s human rights\, reproductive justice\, white supremacy\, and women of color organizing. In 1996\, she founded the first center in the U.S. to innovate creative human rights education for all students transforming social justice issues to be more collaborative and less divisive. In her work Calling In the Calling Out Culture\, she transforms how people can overcome political differences to use empathy and respect to guide difficult conversations. In 2023\, Loretta was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame. \nThis event is open to all Champlain students\, employees and community members. We have reserved a number of tickets for family and friends of the College. If you are not a student or employee\, please reserve a free ticket\, which are available on a first-come\, first served basis. The event will take place in the Champlain Room\, with overflow seating available in Alumni Auditorium. \nAttendance counts as a Second-year InSight CAREtalk.
