SUMMARY:Kelley Marketing Group April Virtual Meeting (CAREERtalk)
DESCRIPTION:Champlain College students and faculty convene with area marketing professionals to share their knowledge\, experience\, and ideas on a pro-bono basis with a different Vermont nonprofit client each month. Our April client is the First Congregational Church of St. Albans (firstcongregationalstalbans.org). \nYou’ll gain some wonderful industry contacts and build relevant experience for your resume. Students will receive the client’s completed questionnaire a few days in advance of the meeting to have time to formulate ideas. Join virtually on Zoom. \nAbout Kelley Marketing Group: For over 40 years\, Kelley Marketing Group has met monthly to provide pro-bono marketing advice to nonprofit organizations so they may thrive and improve our community. The “consultants” who gather include just-starting-out and seasoned marketing professionals\, as well as faculty\, staff\, students\, and alumni of Champlain College and other area colleges\, melding the community with academia. The nonprofit client completes a questionnaire outlining the marketing topic about which they are seeking advice. Consultants get access to the questionnaire in advance of the meeting to get their creative juices flowing in anticipation of sharing out during the 90-minute session. Consultants can attend just an occasional meeting or join in the conversation every month. This is a great opportunity to network\, build experience\, and pay it forward. \nFulfills the InSight CAREERtalk milestone.

SUMMARY:Game Art Career Talk With Epic Games Alumni (CAREERtalk)
DESCRIPTION:Join Game Art alumni Alex Mannion (Technical Artist at Epic Games) and Katrina Mason (Character Artist) for a virtual career talk focused on breaking into and growing within the game art industry. This session is especially valuable for students interested in environmental art\, technical art\, character art\, props\, and hard surface modeling\, offering real-world advice from alumni currently working in the field. \nEarlier in the day\, Alex and Katrina will be hosting portfolio reviews (separate event – see Joann Patel for details)—this evening’s talk builds on that momentum with broader career insights and guidance. This talk will focus on general career advice and portfolio development. Speakers will not be discussing proprietary work or specific projects from Epic Games. \nThis event fulfills the Insight CAREERtalk milestone.
