ALL: The Robert E. Miller Expo Centre is fully accessible. Our Commencement staff are pleased to direct our guests with special needs to a designated section of the Expo Centre. We ask that you plan for one additional family member to sit in that section as well. The staff will assist you by moving chairs, if necessary. Please plan to arrive early.
If any guests require special accommodations (i.e. a hearing impairment,) please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can make the proper arrangements in advance.
ALL: The ceremony itself will take place in Expo South (the center building on the map), student/faculty/platform party line-up will take place in the Blue Ribbon Pavilion, and the gathering following the ceremony will take place in Expo North.
ALL: There is plenty of parking available at the Champlain Valley Expo. We will have golf carts available there to assist with bringing folks from cars to the Expo Centre entrance as needed. Click here for more details and a map of the Champlain Valley Expo grounds.
We will also be providing all day shuttle service to and from Champlain College in Burlington and the Expo. You are welcome to park on campus and take the shuttle if you prefer. Shuttle details here.
ALL: Absolutely no pets, besides properly identified service animals, are permitted at the ceremonies or post-ceremony gatherings. We appreciate your cooperation.
ALL: Following each commencement ceremony, we will have a gathering for graduates, guests, faculty, and the platform party in Expo North at the Champlain Valley Expo. We will provide celebratory cupcakes and beverages at this gathering, during which we will also have music and fun photo opportunities available.
ALL: A professional photographer from Grad Images will be at the commencement ceremonies. Information and proofs will be mailed to you directly from the company so you can purchase what you like.
You are under no obligation to purchase photographs. After the ceremony, you may order online at www.gradimages.com or call 800-424-3686.
ALL: There are NO tickets required for the commencement ceremonies in 2019. Although tickets are not required for guests attending commencement, we do need to monitor expected attendance to ensure seating for everyone.
In October, you will be sent information about filling out the Graduation and Commencement Requirements Form. This form will ask you to indicate the number of guests you will be inviting. We will check in with you again during the spring to verify this number.
[Note- Given the number of seats available, this works out to an average of 8 guests per student.]
