Sub-branding is the creation of a separate identity (like a custom logo) for an organization, department or group that is tied to the primary brand, but which requires differentiation.

Sub-brands can present challenges for the parent organization when the public doesn't intuitively recognize who is communicating with them or if the relationship between the parent organization and it's individual departments isn't clear.

To those points, the Marketing Department has created a visual solution to help identify different departments and initiatives within the College while also visually tying them back to the larger institutional brand. You can find these logos on ImageRelay or use the links below.

Sub-Brand Usage and Rules

  • All logos or sub-brands, besides those created for student groups and clubs, MUST be approved by the Marketing Department prior to use.
  • If you are using one of the sub-branded logos above, which includes the Champlain College wordmark, you do not need to also use the primary Champlain College logo.
  • All rules that apply to our primary identity also apply to sub-branded logos.
