Marketing and Communications/PR Style Guide

The first list here is of Champlain-specific words and phrases, the first part of a comprehensive online editorial stylebook for Champlain College to establish consistency in print materials — internal and external — and on the College’s website. The Marketing Department uses this guide, which is updated as needed, in its work for clients. The department recommends that other offices on campus follow the guide as a reference. The Associated Press Stylebook is the main reference — with some exceptions — for the Marketing Department, which also uses Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, both standard style guides for many colleges and universities.

Below the Champlain-specific entries are guidelines for selected words and phrases.
