Audience: Managers
Format: On-campus Training
Session Description: As a learning institution, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees, especially those in management and leadership positions. We have been working closely with our partner at Knowledgewave to design a comprehensive Manager Development program with topic areas being delivered in small segments over the course of a semester. The program utilizes a cohort model to enable participants to support one another in and outside of the learning environment. The topic areas proposed for the curriculum will serve and be beneficial to all managers, regardless of length in their leadership/management career or experience. We aim to launch the program in 2020.

Your feedback is vital in our curriculum development process. We have asked Knowledgewave to create a mini version of the drafted, proposed curriculum to fit into a one-day training as a prototype to collect your feedforward. The one-day training will provide you with valuable learning this Fall as you continue to support your team, your talents, and allow us to gain insights from you regarding the content you need more of, less of, and/or what is missing. Your influence here is much needed and important as we continue to shape the curriculum.

The one-day training will cover:

  • Introduction to Leadership & Influence
  • Employee Motivation
  • Communication Strategies
  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • Conflict Resolution

Upcoming Sessions:

Session Description: The Office of Accessibility invites participants to engage in a three-part series on disabilities and ways individuals could co-create a more inclusive campus environment. The kick-off session provides participants with an overview of the Office of Accessibility and the work that they do on campus. The second installment invites participants to dive deeper into specific disabilities and ways they could provide support on campus. The three-part series concludes by imparting ways participants could make Universal Design a part of the campus culture and in daily work.

Each session is designed to stand alone so participants can attend all or only the ones that work best for them. It is encouraged that participants attend all three.
