Changes to the Wellbeing Reimbursement Program

As mentioned in our 2018 Open Enrollment Guide last November, the current Wellbeing Reimbursement Account program will be replaced by a program called Motivate Me. We are bringing this new Wellbeing program to you in partnership with our health plan provider, Cigna. The Motivate Me program will provide greater support and flexibility to help you reach your Wellbeing goals. All benefit eligible employees will have access to the Motivate Me program January 1, 2019.

In order to transition to the Motivate Me program in January, there are several process changes that we want to make you aware of. The current Wellbeing Reimbursement program runs on a fiscal year, July 1st - June 30th. The Motivate Me program runs on a calendar year January 1, 2019-December 31, 2019. To ensure a smooth transition and positive implementation we will create a bridge from July 1, 2018—the end of the current reimbursement plan—to December 31st, 2018 between the Wellbeing Reimbursement program and the new Motivate Me program.

The Wellbeing Reimbursement program will cover the months during this bridge. The rules will be the same: reimbursement for a physical activity for yourself. However, the amount will be limited to $150. The eligibility rules will also remain the same: full-time benefits eligible faculty and staff.

In January 2019 we will roll out the Motivate Me program through the Cigna portal. All benefit eligible employees will be eligible for this program and will be able to access the portal regardless of if they are or are not a Cigna member. In the Motivate Me portal, you will earn points toward reaching the $300 reward amount that will be paid out through payroll and that can be spent however you wish. To earn these points, you will be required to take care of your health, self-report prevenative care, and attend some Wellbeing and community functions. There will be more to come on these details in the coming months.
