Structure: Flexible scheduling to accommodate students taking 1-2 courses per 8-week term.
Format: Combines convenience of online instructor-led scheduling (24/7 access to instruction and assignment; highly collaborative through discussion, chat, and email) with face-to-face learning in one short Residency Experience.
Annual Cycle: Five terms per year; September, October, January, March and May. New students begin in September, January, or May.
Course Duration: 8-week online terms.
Required Credit Hours: 36 credit hours.
Areas of Specialization: Special Education, Teaching, or Administration.
Degree Completion Time Frames:
- Minimum: under 1.5 years (2 courses in 7 successive, 8-week terms for 36 credit hours)
- Maximum: 6 years
Residency: Students participate in a short, valuable residency experience during the first year of the program.
Graduate Commencement Ceremony: Annually in May, Champlain College, Burlington, VT.
Application Process: Applications accepted year-round; begin in any of the three Start Terms; September, January, and May. Call a Graduate Admission Representative for term application deadlines.
Accreditation: New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
