Conditional Admittance for MS in Digital Forensics

Students who are conditionally admitted to the Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science must demonstrate competence in foundational material before starting the Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science coursework.

This may be achieved, should you accept our offer of admission, by taking and successfully completing DFS 500, Digital Forensic Science - a graduate-level course.

  • This is an 8-week, 3-credit, instructor-led, online course that is not a part of the Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science program, and covers foundational digital forensic concepts.
  • Upon completion of DFS with a grade of "B" or higher, your conditional admittance status will be removed, and you will begin your program's courses.
  • This course is not financial aid-eligible, and the cost of the course is $2,385.

Conditional Admittance Appeal Process

By default, Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science conditional admits are enrolled in DFS 500. If you believe you have the requisite knowledge and can demonstrate the required competencies, please contact your admission representative. You will be required to send an explanation and supporting documentation to the admission committee at CPS@champlain.edu. This will be assessed by the Program Director who will render the final decision regarding your admission status.
