AIGA, the professional association for design, sets the national agenda for the role of design in economic, social, political, cultural, and creative contexts. Its mission is to advance designing as a professional craft, strategic tool, and vital cultural force.
Champlain's AIGA Student Group was established in 2010 and aims to bring student designers together to interact, assist, and compete with one another while creating a stronger design community. We annually invite a designer to visit and speak with us, and we go on trips to other cities to see gallery shows, speakers and visit design firms.
We are also working to arrange career shadowing at local design studios and a working critique where local designers would provide feedback on students' work.
We meet bi-weekly in CCM 424 from 5:30–7:30.
