Womxn in Technology
The purpose of the Womxn in Technology Club is to provide a safe and supportive space for students who are considered minorities in the ITS Division. While the club mainly focuses on the experiences of students who are minorities in regard to gender, all students are welcome. In response to the heavily male-dominated presence in technology fields, we work to cultivate an environment in which minorities can connect with and encourage each other during their years at Champlain College and beyond.
We host both community-building and technical events. We may invite guest speakers, talk about different technologies that spark members' interests, examine and discuss the realities of being a minority in a professional environment, and have hands-on educational activities or labs.
We meet Tuesdays at 8:30 PM in the Women's and Gender Center. For more information on our events, follow us on Instagram (@champ.wit) and Twitter (@Champlain_WIT).
