Rock Climbing Club
Established in Fall 2008, the Champlain College Rock Climbing Club strives to give all students the opportunity to take part in rock climbing, meet new people, get physical exercise, and develop skills they might otherwise not be able to.
We have great relationships with two local gyms, Petra Cliffs and MetroRock. Offering a climb-at-your-own-level mentality, we support first-time and advanced climbers all the same. In addition to our indoor climbing, we do sometimes offer outdoor rock climbing and even ice climbing in the winter.
Whether you're looking to just have a fun time with friends or looking to advance your skills on the wall, we have you covered!
If you want to come climbing, we ask that you first complete the Online Waiver (see below). You only need to fill out the online waiver if you have never climbed with us before. Once completed, you can fill out the climbing form contained within our weekly email so that we know you would like to attend.
Signup closes at noon on Monday, so make sure to fill out the form before then, otherwise, it will automatically closeout. The form also closes if the maximum number of spots has been filled for the week. When you fill out the form, you need to specify which days you are coming (either Tuesday, Friday or Saturday) and whether you need a ride on those days.
To make our club funds stretch throughout the entire semester, there is a $2 per night fee. The first night is free! Shoe rental is $4 per night. So come climb, Champlain!
We meet in the IDX parking lot and leave at the following times (sharp). Please turn up before that. We offer rides to those that don't have it, in a Champlain van.
- Tuesdays from 6:45–8:45 at Metrorock
- Fridays from 5:45–7:45 at Metrorock
- Saturdays from 5:45- 7:45 at Petra Cliffs
