Promoting a video about your company's latest product release, crafting informative Tweets about exciting news in your industry, writing a multimedia news release to announce your organization's new CEO—is this an average day in your ideal job?

The traditional boundary between communication and marketing work is increasingly blurred. While the field of marketing exists to connect a product or service with the people who want to use it, communication—including public relations—has typically encompassed the messages that don't strictly pertain to the product or service.

These days, roles and tasks often fall into the space where marketing and communication overlap. In Champlain's Marketing Communication major, you'll gain experience in both realms, developing critical skills including writing, digital marketing, public relations, content strategy, graphic design, video production, critical thinking, and creativity; you'll be well prepared to lead marketing and communication strategies in the modern workplace.

Why major in Marketing Communication at Champlain College?

You'll jump into Marketing Communication classes in your very first semester. This early learning means you have more opportunities to explore interests and make sure the major is a good fit for you. It also means you have more time for valuable internships.

Employers love working with Champlain College interns because they know you've already learned the basics, even after just one semester. You'll hold industry standard certifications by your third year. You'll be working on long-term client projects in class, putting everything you learn into practice. Combining Marketing Communication with one of our many minors, you'll be able to create your professional niche and build a wealth of experience.
