Professional immersions are a key part of our career-focused education. Positions in your field give you a real taste of your future career and a highly marketable résumé that will help you stand out to studios upon graduation.
Through our Upside-Down Curriculum, Champlain students are ready for professional immersions faster, giving you up to four years of experience in your field.
Game companies are noticing our highly skilled Game Production Management (GPM) students. Our Game students have interned at studios like Insomniac, Harmonix, Ubisoft, and Velan—just to name a few. In fact, this appreciation for Champlain's unparalleled GPM major has led Vicarious Visions to open a summer professional immersion exclusively for game producers. Plus, at Champlain, you'll have the chance to intern all over the world.
As students within the Stiller School of Business at Champlain College, Game Production Management majors are eligible to apply for the Stiller School's prestigious Freeman Foundation Asia Internship Grant to study in Shanghai, China, and other Asian countries.
Dozens of Game Production Management students have experienced life-changing professional immersions with international gaming companies and studios, including internships at Ubisoft China. A new partnership in Kyoto, Japan, has opened doors to even more opportunities specifically for Game Production Management majors.
The Emergent Media Center® (EMC) is an academic Center of Experience at Champlain College. Operating in partnership with industry businesses, public institutions, and nonprofits, the EMC has established a laboratory/studio environment in which students collaborate with peers, faculty, and clients to develop new concepts, processes, uses, and applications for games and other emergent media.
Through a paid position, work-study, or internship in the EMC, you can be part of a team that uses game technologies and emergent media to integrate art and code with cultural awareness, creativity, and communication.
We want you to be well prepared for your first internship, externship, or other fieldwork. After your first year of exploratory practical education, you'll be ready to work with your Career Advisor to take the next step.
Local and national employers turn to Champlain for college interns because they are better prepared to work in professional environments than the majority of their peers from other institutions. Many Champlain graduates receive full- and part-time job offers from the organizations where they first took their internships or externships.
