The Office of Information Systems is responsible for developing policies that outline the guiding principles for the use of information and technology resources at Champlain College.
Champlain College recognizes the critical role information technology plays in the College’s mission, related administrative activities and academic environment. As more information is used and shared in a digital format by students, faculty and staff, an increased effort must be made to protect information and the technology resources that support it.
The acceptable ways to use College IS resources such as computers, email and networks.
Establishes a standard for logging into accounts that permits access to Champlain College’s technology resources and institutional data.
Data classification establishes an operating foundation regarding the use and governance of the various types of data available at the institution.
Designed to protect the confidentiality and integrity of Champlain College data in accordance with the levels defined in the Data Classification Policy.
Defines how computer assets (laptop/desktop, monitor, keyboard, peripherals, etc.) are collected by the IS team when an employee leaves the College.
Defines the standards for connecting computers, servers, mobile or other devices to the Champlain College network.
Establishes a standard for creation of strong passwords, the protection of those passwords and the frequency of change.
Established the rules that govern the collection, storage and maintenance of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
In collaboration with the CCM Division, these policies guide users regarding reservations, availability and usage of all media equipment. For additional help, it is best to call us during our normal business hours or visit us in person.
