What is Digital Humanities? Why study it at Champlain College?
Digital Humanities (DH) integrates the liberal arts and explores questions about human nature through the context of digital and new media technologies. Interdisciplinary at its core, opportunities abound for students in this field to uncover new meaning in subjects as varied as their interests, from library studies and graduate pursuits to reviewing or developing upgrades to our everyday appliances and devices.
You're in the driver's seat at Champlain College: The Digital Humanities major is connected to professors, not dictated by them. You'll choose from a selection of courses to build your "Digital Toolkit" and master the technical skills you're most interested in—like python programming, videography, analytics management, geospatial analysis, and digital storytelling among others. In this highly customizable program, you'll apply those hands-on skills to meaningful areas of study—including social justice, psychology, communication, sustainability, or other subjects of interest—to bring new knowledge and discoveries to life.
